Betty's Story - Life After Stroke   Getting into the boats, which were bobbing up and down, was quite a challenge. At the shore we had to walk many meters through sand, before reaching solid ground. Getting on and off the aircraft presented again quite a challenge, but I was determined to make the flight. In the 8 years since the stroke, we have done 4 cruises on ships. On one particular cruise to Singapore, the ship did not have wharf facilities. All of our shore excursions had to be made by way of the ships life boats from ship to shore.
